Saratoga's All-American Celebration General Information & FAQs

Weather Considerations

Safety permitting, all SAAC events, except for the fireworks, will continue rain or shine.  In the event of strong storms, especially thunder and lightning, precautions may be taken and delays in some events may occur.  Please use common sense and good judgment and heed all National Weather Service warnings.

A final go/no-go decision on fireworks will be made by 8:30pm on July 4th.  Please check our  page for up-to-the-minute details and alerts.

If the fireworks are called off due to weather, a rain date will be announced in local media and on our page within a day or two following the event.

  • The Fireside Chat w/ Gen. Burgoyne will be in the Holiday Inn Fireplace (rear) Lobby.
  • The Parade route travels down Broadway from Van Dam Street to Spring Street (it does NOT continue in front of Congress Park nor down Spring St.)
  • BBQ & Dessert Fest occurs at each participants' location throughout downtown with more participants in the Division Street Parking Lot.
  • The Car Show will be in the Spring Street Parking Lot.
  • The Parking Lot Party with the AudioStars will be in the Spring St. Parking Lot.
  • The fireworks will be launched from behind the Congress Park Carousel.

Please see the Program Map and Schedule of Events for more info.

Parade

The Parade steps off at 11:00am

The Parade Route starts at the corner of Van Dam and Broadway (in front of the City Center) and proceeds south down Broadway to Spring Street. The Parade does NOT pass by Congress Park nor does it continue down Spring St.

Any spot along Broadway between the City Center and Spring Street will be prime viewing!

Fireworks The Fireworks will be launched from behind the Congress Park Carousel (same location as First Night.) While they should be viewable from all areas surrounding Congress Park, the best viewing will be:
  • Spring St. (closed to traffic)
  • Putnam St. (closed to traffic)
  • Henry St. (closed to traffic)
  • Phila St. parking deck
  • parts of the south side of Union Ave.
  • Broadway in front of Congress Park
  • Behind and around the Sprit of Life in Congress Park

The ground show (small fireworks displays while the big ones are being reloaded) will only be visible from close to Congress Park along Spring Street. For a general reference, most of the fireworks will be launched about three times higher than the closest trees.

Our event permit DOES NOT include Congress Park. Permission to enter and stay in Congress Park is at the discretion of the City of Saratoga Springs (NOTE: SAAC is NOT affiliated with the City of Saratoga Springs.) Please respect all of the City's fences and barriers and the directions of Saratoga Springs Police.

The music during the fireworks will be most audible from Spring Street and Putnam Street.

NOTE: The northeast field of Congress Park (behind the carousel) will be OFF LIMITS starting around 3pm when the fireworks arrive and begin to be set up, per orders of the Fire Marshall.  Please exit and refrain from entering the area sectioned off by the orange fence.

NOTE: the southeast corner of the Spring St. lot will be sectioned off with orange cones around 6PM. This means that chairs are not allowed inside the cones (too close to the fireworks), but standing and dancing are allowed!

If inclement weather is an issue, a final go/no-go decision on fireworks will be made by 8:30pm on July 4th.  Please check our  page for up-to-the-minute details and alerts.

If the fireworks are called off due to weather, a rain date will be announced in local media and on our page within a day or two following the event.
